AQCS stands for Animal Quarantine and Certification Service. For dogs and cats entering India, AQCS plays an important role in checking documents, issuing the advance NOC before travel and examining the pet at the port of entry.
For dogs, AQCS requires the import application with supporting documents including vaccination and microchip certificate, official health certificate, air ticket or airway bill and passport copy. The same type of requirement applies for cats under the separate AQCS cat import SOP.
After the documents are examined, AQCS issues an advance No Objection Certificate. On arrival, the AQCS officer physically examines the pet. If the pet is fit, the final NOC is issued. If the pet shows clinical signs of disease or fails the physical examination, it may be quarantined for 15 days at the respective AQCS station.
Felcan can assist with preparing and checking the documents required for AQCS NOC for pet import into India.
